Still can't figure what should have been used rather than "interned" - any suggeations?
interred - I think
Interred = in the ground (in terra)buried doesn't do it either - what do the Parsees and the N Am Indians do?

You're right I suppose - even if the speaker meant "interred", it is an oxymoron to say that a person is interred in a tree. Double whammy...
